My work is about a world on the edge.
A place poised between stability and collapse,
caught between construction and corrosion.
Pupating, gestating, mutating -
a momentary metamorphosis.
A world that is in flux;
an uncertainty where existence is gestured
rather than defined.
A fragile, fractured state.
A vulnerable, unfinished site.
A land at the beginning of the end.
Acids erode imagery,
textures are transferred and transformed,
traces of drawing dissolve into artefact.
A digital deformation:
Terabytes of encoded information
devouring our organic origins.
Construction becomes constriction.
A world in asphyxiation;
overloaded, overdeveloped, unbalanced, unnatural.
Wastelands marginalised or forgotten,
fearful of devolution and deceleration,
yet accelerating into disintegration.
Penetrated by the primeval.
Permeated by the primordial.
The ruins, relics and remnants of a world on the edge of contemporary meltdown.

Having being awarded the Purchase Prize at Clifford Chance's survey of Postgraduate Printmaking in London 2011, I am busy creating a new body of work to show in 2012.
